Assistant Executive Director

The Assistant Executive Director supports STAR House’s Executive Director in managing daily operations, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and upholding the organization’s mission and values. This position requires strong organizational skills, leadership, and a commitment to trauma sensitivity and cultural humility. Duties include assisting with family intakes and discharges, supporting direct care staff and volunteers, maintaining documentation, and helping with facility operations. The Assistant Executive Director will work 10-20 hours per week, with some weekend hours required to align with STAR House’s Friday-Sunday service schedule.

STAR House is a Crisis Nursery dedicated to providing a temporary home-away-from-home for children and supportive services to uplift and strengthen the entire family. We are an entrepreneurial and growing organization, and have been open for less than a year. Over the next 3 years we expect to more than triple our services, and are seeking dedicated individuals who are eager to contribute to join our working Board of Directors. Board members play an active role in guiding the organization’s mission to provide safe, nurturing care for children and support for families in crisis.
